This workshop will concentrate on painting the head in a traditional realistic manner. We will see and paint the unique forms of the individual model posing. Variations will be observed with different poses and lighting conditions. Attention will be given to perspective, foreshortening, the relationship of shapes, value, color, textures, atmosphere, spacial design and the use of the painting materials, paint and brushes, etc.to achieve these effects.

Mr. Ginsburg will give painting demonstrations throughout the week but the students will spend the bulk of the time painting on their own work, and the instructor will personally critique each student's work daily. During the long breaks Mr. Ginsburg will discuss the work of the Old Masters, and his own work, as it relates to the workshop assignments. www.maxginsburg.com
