My old teacher, Dan McCaw, used to say that all you need for a good painting is the right shapes with the right color and the right value – a simple but powerful idea. This workshop will focus on those fundamentals. You will learn to see shapes, simplify values and develop a stronger color sense. Specific exercises will be combined with open painting of still life and costumed models that will be valuable for painters of all levels. The instructor will do some general demonstration but most of the time you will be painting with individual attention from the instructor, tailored to your needs. www.allengarns.com
