Watercolor en Plein Aire

This advanced plein aire workshop will be held at different outdoor locations in Scottsdale throughout the week. The class will study composition, light and shadow patterns, and create finished works of art outdoors. We will also focus on brushwork and your emotional response to painting from life. The process of working outdoors and then relating that work to indoor studio work will also be discussed. We will paint two or three finished works daily, depending on time and location. There will be a critique on the week’s work the final day of the workshop. Portable easel and transportation required.
Gerald Fritzler
GERALD J. FRITZLER, AWS, TWSA, NWS, says his watercolors are a slice of life, whether from his home in Colorado, or his extensive world travels. He developed his skills with studies in Chicago at the American Academy of Art, and enjoys memberships in numerous associations including Laguna Plein Air Painters, Northwest Rendezvous Group, American Watercolor Society, and Transparent Watercolor Society of America. His work has been included in the books Best of Watercolor, Watercolor Expressions, A Gallery of Marine Art, Contemporary Western Artists, and A Simple Secret to Better Painting.
