This class will be a linear approach to capturing the movement and volume of the female figure. This will be an intense class with lots of drawing, looking and interaction between students and the artist. Donna Howell-Sickles will be drawing with the class so everyone can see and question how she approaches the model and the drawing.
Instructor -- Donna Howell-Sickles
DONNA HOWELL-SICKLES received her BFA in painting and drawing from Texas Tech University. Her work is in public and private collections throughout the United States and she is a regular participant in national exhibitions, including Prix de West. She is a Master Signature Member of American Women Artists. Howell-Sickles’ work is featured in her book, Cowgirl Rising.

- A 24” x 36” newsprint pad
- A box of soft vine charcoal thin
- Conte crayons in at least 3 colors
- 1 stick compressed charcoal
- B4 or softer pencils
- Several sheets of better paper at least 30” x 22” or larger
- I will have a variety of other media there to experiment with.
- This class is primarily about figure drawing and composition. More than likely, you will not finish any one drawing but will start several.
