In this course students will learn how to get the most out of their Digital SLR (single lens reflex camera) to take better reference photos. Students will learn the more advanced features of their SLR camera, including using various mode and program functions. Students will learn how to explore and improve your photographic images by using what is learned for more interesting compositions by the use of depth of field , better in camera cropping by using the viewfinder. Finally, students will learn how to select the best lenses to capture their artistic vision. Students will have the opportunity to take pictures outdoors of the art school campus.
- Please note: NO POINT AND SHOOT CAMERAS. Cameras must be able to use be interchangeable lenses and that can be taken off auto or program mode. Class will be taught so that students will learn to use their cameras in Aperture and/or Shutter priority.
Instructor -- Alan Lowy
ALAN LOWY had taught photography for over 30 years, and currently teaches through Cavecreek Photographic Workshops. He has worked as a commercial photographer since 1967, and has won numerous awards for his portrait, fine art figure, photojournalism, and nature photography.
