Youth Academy art classes offer children true studio art experience provided by experienced professional instructors who have created a unique and exceptional program of fine art training tailored for children and young adults. Since 2004, Scottsdale Artists’ School has provided a stimulating but disciplined environment filled with encouragement, fun, and opportunity for independent creativity. Students work in adult studio classrooms using professional art equipment, lighting, props and tools. The younger students learn focus and self-discipline while increasing their confidence, self-esteem and communication skills.

  • Daily Schedule
  • Morning: drawing, snack break, painting
  • Afternoon: lunch, ceramics and mixed media

Begay, Panthea

Panthea has been a professional art teacher for over 11 years in the Osborn School District. During the school year she teaches visual arts to students ranging from kindergarten through 8th grade as well as coaching after school sport programs. Panthea received her BFA, and M Ed from ASU. After graduating with my BFA in painting, she spent time oil painting and print-making. She started teaching as a means to support her art career. At that time she worked as an art teacher and coach at various places that include Montessori schools, girls clubs and after school art programs in Phoenix and Tucson. She has exhibited work in local coffee shops and art venues in the Phoenix area and also worked at an art gallery that manufactured prints and paintings. Currently, Panthea creates art to sustain her teaching career. It's her means of expression and relaxation. Panthea's favorite mediums include acrylic painting, ceramics, and various forms of fiber arts. She is the mother of two boys, age 16 and 10 years old.
