Paint ‘disco ball’ effects as light bounces around the glass curves of a honey jar. Decide how much light will fill your picture and see changes in the luminosity of your objects as you regulate the shadow values with layers of veiled color. Play with the light source and ‘time of day’ to produce soft and sharp edges; practice reproducing color that’s in full sunlight or shade; call out the hues within a shadow then enhance them with a blend of cool and warm pastels. Class atmosphere will contain lively discussions and constructive critiques. All skill levels are welcome. www.lizkenyon.com
