Freedom of expression with personalized guidance and critiques from professional artists. Students work on developing key observational drawing skills and painting pieces, such as a still life and self portrait. Occasionally, a costumed model will be used. Learn the fundamentals of traditional art in order to create a strong portfolio. You bring the passion and we’ll give you the tools and techniques for success!
Taught by two local instructors Joseph Wolves Kill, and Linda Pullinsi, both of whom are professional artists and taught our high school fine art program here this summer. This will be a drop-in atmosphere that will ultimately turn into a core group of serious young artists interested in taking their art to a new level. There are similar art clubs in CA and Chicago. Each week will have a focus, theme and/or guest artist and they will be listed on our website. Some areas of focus will include: personalized instruction in drawing, painting, sculpture, and critiques from professional artists to students of all levelsaspiring novice to professional artist. This is the place for young artists.
Instructor -- Joseph Wolves Kill
Joseph Wolves Kill’s passion for the arts has taken him into the classroom to mentor aspiring young artists of the future. He has shown his powerful visual reflections throughout the U.S., as well as in Europe and Japan. Images of his work have advertised and promoted conferences and organizations such as the Inter-tribal Council of AZ, Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts (murals), and ATLATL, (National Native Arts Network). Commercially, Joseph has illustrated a children's book and designed book and album cover artwork. He currently resides in Tempe, Arizona. Mr. Wolves Kill has received the Artist Circle Award for Artist Educator of the Year from Scottsdale Arizona 2006.
