Most open studios provide students a limited amount of time to successfully complete a head study. Professional illustrator and artist, Jerry Salinas, will provide students with a variety of training techniques to be able to come up with a convincing head study. This course will investigate the individual forms of the head and more importantly how to make them come together in an integrated whole. Students will learn to use an approach that helps them see the big shapes first, then go into the details towards the end of the session. The core of the lessons will be based on drawing, values, edges, planes of the head and composition. Bring your chosen medium. If you are new to working from life, start with drawing. Previous study helpful, but not required.
