Graphic novelist Gina Siciliano will teach this five-week outdoor clothed figure drawing course at Volunteer Park (weather permitting). Siciliano's award-winning book I Know What I Am: The Life and Times of Artemisia Gentileschi would not have been possible without her solid foundation of figure drawing experience. Students will focus on capturing the model in a dynamic environment with natural light, emphasizing anatomy, proportion, and gesture. Students are invited to use different mediums and experiment with different styles. Siciliano will provide demonstrations, and gentle, encouraging feedback. This course is an opportunity to practice drawing people while out and about!
