This is an observationally based course designed to reinforce and develop skills beyond basic drawing and painting. Students will work with a variety of subjects: still-life, portrait and figure. In addition to working from direct observation, photographs also provide great source material. Students will have the opportunity to experiment with size and subject, as well as to explore their media as a tool for invention, conceptualization, and idea development. The course also affords students an opportunity to take a look at materials in more breadth and depth. www.michaelmlittle.com

Little, Michael

Mike studied at University of Rhode Island, Rhode Island School of Design and Cooper Union earning a BFA in drawing and printmaking and a MFA in painting. He has improved and changed with many workshops and classes at Scottsdale Artists’ School and fully expects to see even more diversity in his work. Mike believes all things come from a strong understanding of drawing and that everyone has a style and voice that comes with practice and intuition.
