Shared Interest Groups | Available (Membership Required)

Practice French through culture, art, and real-world conversation! Three monthly events are scheduled for this Shared Interest Group (SIG) so far!

Session 1: French Découpage Collage

Date: Tuesday, August 18
Time: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Description: Kick off the SIG with hands-on art. Learn about decoupage + more using French-themed materials while learning basic vocabulary. Use the materials provided and/ or bring your own photos, postcards, printed paper napkins, and more.

Session 2: Travel Dialogues

Date: Tuesday, September 15, 2026
Time: 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM 
Description: Get ready for your next trip! Role-play essential travel scenarios like ordering at a café, asking for directions, and checking into a hotel.

Session 3: Promenade & Restaurant Lunch

Date: Tuesday, October 20, 2026
Time: Meet 10:30 AM followed by lunch 
Description: Enjoy a leisurely autumn walk followed by a lunch at a local restaurant. Practice conversational French and food vocabulary over a great meal. Meeting place & restaurant to be announced.

Gloria Finkelstein

Gloria Finkelstein grew up in Montreal, lived in Paris, and has frequently traveled to France. She is the creator of “French Club with Madame G,” an innovative learning-by-doing immersive language arts program. Gloria enjoys helping others discover and experience French culture and lifestyle via Upper Valley French-themed workshops, events, and trips via Zoom/in person. Recent Active French Osher classes include: “La Belle Provence - Que Canada;” “Fun French Musical Jukebox;” “French Inventions;” “French Tartines; Baguettes, Croissants + Café + A Field Trip to Le Musée Hood” and most recently “Famous French Women.”
