Join Osher at Dartmouth for a world class musical day at the Boston Symphony Orchestra for this special performance with Conductor Samy Rachid and Pianist Jan LiSiecki! This special performance will feature early German Romatic masterpieces. The performance will start off with Weber's Overture to Oberon (1825 - 1826), a piece that was composed in the final year of Weber's life before he passed away at just 39. Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto No. 1 (1830 - 1831) will follow, notably written when Mendelssohn was only 21! The final piece of the day is Schumann's Symphony No. 1 Spring (1841), the composers first successful orchestral score.

We will travel to Boston, departing from Lebanon at 8:15 AM. We will arrive in Boston about two hours before the performance begins at 1:30 PM, leaving time for you to explore on your own! We will leave Boston immediately after the performance, returning to Lebanon around 6:30 PM.

 

This event is open to the public – registration is required. Your registration fee includes the cost of transportation and admission to the performance; it does not include meals or other expenses.

    NOTE: Have a ticket to the performance already or want to spend time in Boston without attending the symphony? There's a special bus-only option for each of our BSO trips. On arrival in Boston (around 11:00 AM), you'll disembark with everyone else at Symphony Hall. From there, the afternoon is yours! Meet us back at Symphony Hall at 3:45 PM to board the bus for the return trip home.
