This Creative Photography course is designed to encourage participants to have fun creating abstract photographs with digital cameras or cell phone cameras. Participants will view the work of some well-known photographers who employed various techniques to achieve abstract or surreal images, including viewpoint, framing, staging, props, lighting, motion, and other techniques. Participants are encouraged to use the choices their camera or cell phone offers for manipulating the image before or after taking the photograph. Also, there are several software programs that can be used to alter images in interesting ways. Each week, an assignment will be given employing one or more of the techniques that were discussed.Participants will email three to five images to the Study Leader one day prior to the class. During class, they will view a PowerPoint presentation to see everyone’s work and discuss how the assignment was achieved. We have the technology to be able to take multiple photographs with no additional costs, so selection criteria and editing will be emphasized during the course. 

This course will combine lecture with class discussions.  There are no required books for this course.
