Perspectives on the Holocaust and Antisemitism (HyFlex: )

Winter (9 - 13.5 hours) | Registration opens 11/23/2026 12:00 AM EDT

THIS IS THE (IN-PERSON/ZOOM) REGISTRATION OPTION FOR THIS COURSE!

The Holocaust, planned and carried out by Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Germany during World War II, was the most heinous organized crime of the 20th Century, if not of all human history.

This course will consist of lectures and discussion/Q&A. We will consider the Holocaust in historical context and will place particular emphasis on:

  • How the years leading up to the Holocaust did much to set the stage for the Nazis’ deeds
  • Why America and the rest of the world were slow to act on credible evidence of atrocities prior to the war
  • How the Nazis organized and carried out the Holocaust
  • Individual people of that time period
  • Personal experiences of survivors, both during the war and in its aftermath
  • The long history of anti-Judaism and antisemitism, from ancient times up to the present day.

This course will combine lecture with class discussion.

  • There are no required books for this course.
