Boo-tiful Lights: A Halloween Lantern Workshop 10.23.2026

Lantern Workshop | Available

Step into the season and craft something spellbinding! Join us for a hands-on workshop where you'll build your very own square paper-and-vellum table lantern with a spooky Halloween twist. Whether you're drawn to eerie silhouettes, glowing jack-o'-lanterns, or elegant gothic patterns, you'll design a one-of-a-kind piece perfect for haunting your porch, windowsill, or mantel this October.

We'll provide all the essentials — paper, vellum, glue, markers, and tea lights — so you can dive right in. Want to make your table lantern truly your own? Feel free to bring embellishments like ribbon, beads, hole punches, or other decorative touches. (If you're planning to add anything on the heavier side, we suggest bringing along a stronger adhesive to make sure it stays put!) You can even bring twine or wire (and clippers) if you want to convert your table lantern to a hanging lantern!

No experience necessary — just bring your imagination and a taste for the macabre. By the end of the workshop, you'll walk away with a finished lantern, ready to flicker and glow all Halloween long.

Caution, sharp tools ahead! This workshop involves X-Acto knives, which are fancier (and pointier) than safety scissors. Please come ready to handle sharp objects like a responsible adult — fingers are hard to glue back on.

  • Osher will provide tools and materials for use in the workshop, including craft knives, cutting mats, markers, glue, paper, and vellum.

Participants will leave the workshop with their completed lantern and stencils to make additional lanterns on their own.
