Active French: Paris Beyond the Guidebook + La Tour Eiffel - Hidden Gems & Easy Travelers French (Z)
Winter (4 - 8.5 hours) | Registration opens 11/23/2026 12:00 AM EDT
Skip the crushing tourist lines and discover the true soul of the French capital. This Osher course bypasses mainstream landmarks to uncover Paris’s finest hidden treasures. Whether you are planning your very first trip or have visited the city multiple times, we will journey virtually through several of the 20 distinct arrondissements and the charming villages that border the city.
Together, we will explore secret museums, hands-on workshops, historic covered passages, tucked-away cafés, boutiques, and hotels. Along the way, we will dive into Parisian music, parks, cuisine, unique tours and experiences, and local transportation secrets. Students are invited (but not required) to prepare a short presentation — in English or en français — about their own favorite Parisian spots or day trips. All levels are welcome — beginners too. Join us to learn new French vocabulary and practice your conversation skills.
A brief questionnaire will be sent to all registered students before the first class so that the course can be tailored to everyone’s French level.
- There are no required books for this course.
