Students will do exercises working from reference and live models to improve their understanding of the facial features. Jerry will thoroughly address the nose, eyes, ears and mouth. Students will learn to simplify the anatomy and structure of the planes of the face. Jerry will also discuss value and lighting and how to expose the facial features to a proper light source to show the halftones, highlights and shadows to create a realistic three-dimensional form. Colors of the facial zones will also be explained and practiced. Individual attention will be given to each student. A packet of class notes will be emailed to each student. Salinas, Jerry

Jerry Salinas graduated from the American Academy of Art with a degree in Illustration and Fine Arts where he studied with Bill Parks. He has been working as an illustrator since the mid-1990’s working with many ad agencies. He is represented in Chicago and New York. He balances his interest in illustration work with his love for fine art. Jerry is a member of the Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Arts, Where he has studied with Romel de la Torre, Clayton J. Beck III and a community of artists in-residence and visiting painters.
