This class will be a fun exploration of faces, human or animal, and as representational or whimsical as you like. Using hand building and modeling techniques, students will create three dimensional faces that can be displayed on the wall when completed. Jane will discuss basic facial anatomy, proportion and expression. She will demonstrate how to establish structure, model features and apply ceramic underglazes. We will not be working from a live model. Students may wish to bring images as inspiration but be prepared to work intuitively and have fun with the clay. www.janekelseymapel.com
