On ZOOM and FACEBOOK!
An intense workshop with an emphasis on drawing and creating clean beautiful color in flowers.
The class will meet once a week for a 3 hour long live ZOOM meeting and lecture.
DAY BEFORE the first ZOOM meeting Kathy will post a pre-recorded demo on Face Book, in which she will explain her process step by step. Please watch the demo before the first meeting!
The workshop will have a closed Facebook Group as its classroom that is available only for the students in the class. Kathy will answer questions, critique student work, share painting tips, materials and painting demos. Students will have access to Facebook and recordings for a full month after the class is over!
WEEK1
ZOOM LIVE:
• Kathy will give a short drawing homework assignment, drawing ellipsis and foreshortening pertaining to flowers
• Go over her palette
• Give a short brush cleaning demo
• Show a slide show of some garden paintings and talk about design, editing choices, and values pertaining to an outdoor garden.
The students are encouraged to paint on their own during the week using Kathy’s demo as reference and to submit their artwork for critique.
WEEK 2 and 3
Kathy will do short demos from live flowers (depending on what’s blooming) with emphasis on clean color, color in the shadows, and creating depth with your backgrounds. The students will then paint for one hour, post their images on the FB page, and we’ll have critiques and discussions.
This is an online class, live through zoom. You will have the front seat access to all of my demos and then will be able to rewind and watch it again!
