This workshop will review the mites associated with crops, ornamental plants and stored products. The major emphasis will be on identification and classification, with a secondary emphasis on evolutionary (Janssen) and applied (James) aspects of biocontrol. Specifically discussed groups will be on the Phytoseiidae (Instructor: TBD & Janssen), Tetranychoidea, Tydeoidea, and Tarsonemida (Instructors: Ochoa & Welbourn), Eriophyoidea (Instructor: Chetverikov) and stored product mites (Instructor: Klimov).
