Learning how to talk with clients about safe gun storage and gun violence prevention will help reduce unintentional child shootings, gun suicide and homicide.

More than 4.6 million children live in a home with an unsecured weapon and at least 300 unintentional shootings by children happen each year. The Be SMART campaign is a grass roots movement started by the group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. The main goal of the campaign is to reduce unintentional shootings, suicides, and homicides that occur when an unsupervised child gets their hands on a Gun. The Be SMART campaign is working to increase knowledge about proper gun storage and other simple things that can be done to save lives in our communities among individuals, schools, health workers and now, mental health workers.
