In the age of technology, news is accessible now more than ever. How do we discuss the influx of information and news and more specifically fake news? This presentation will discuss social work ethics as they relate to professional use of technology and fake news. Following connection to the NASW Code of Ethics, the presenter will describe the history of fake news, measures taken by various organizations to control the spread of fake news, dangers, steps to ensure credibility, and how to professionally discuss the topic. There will be intervals throughout the presentation for discussion and planned activities.
