Master the language of abstraction with a variety of wet and dry drawing media. Abstract Drawing: From Lines to Layers emphasizes conceptual, intuitive, and experimental methods used by modern and contemporary artists to create non-representational images. You will work in pencil, pen, ink, watercolor, and mixed media on projects that cover a broad range of drawing methods and approaches. Readings and numerous visual examples from 20th and 21st century artists will be used to support your in-class work. To help encourage your artistic growth and studio practice, students will work both at home and in class to finish their pieces.
