Paper is a remarkably receptive support for both dry and wet media: from graphite and charcoal to watercolor and acrylic paint. We will explore the history, manufacture, preparation, and use of art papers. Classroom projects will focus particularly on paper as a support for abstract drawing; historical examples will be provided for discussion and consideration. The framing and presentation of finished artworks will also be covered.
