Carve wood sculptures with basic hand tools. Learn to create a low relief sculpture using wood carving tools and chisels. The course will begin with sketching ideas on paper, selecting the best idea to create an initial low relief in clay, and learn to carve and mold in clay before procceding to sculpt the relief in wood. Toward the end of the course we will explore the possibility of using found or personal objects to combine with our work to explore your creative and experimental space.
