Focus on full-day and multi-session drawings from the nude figure. Students will work from with a professional nude model. Each week we will begin with short warm up gestures then move on to a longer, strongly lit pose. This course is a perfect for students with previous drawing experience who want a chance to build portfolio pieces. It complements the previous short-pose nude figure skill-set by providing an opportunity to develop longer drawings from the model. Students will learn how to check proportions and use anatomical landmarks to navigate and understand the figure. Poses will include standing, seated, and strongly foreshortened poses to develop and demonstrate students’ ability to tackle the figure from multiple angles. Materials include graphite and charcoal. The focus of the course will be primarily hands on drawing time with instruction primarily through individual critiques throughout the class.
