In one intensive weekend, students will be taken by hand to learn the basics of creating strong, accurate drawings working directly from a variety of still-life objects and inspiring set-ups. Explore both the precision of mark-making with pencil and the bolder strokes of charcoal. Learn to identify, simplify, and bring together one coherent image as well as the key elements of positive and negative shapes; basic perspective; and the use of relative tonal values. Under the guidance of instructor Terry Furchgott, students will gain skill and confidence as they complete exercises and drawings.
