  • Materials list for painting (same for oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolor)
  • Please bring whatever materials and colors you have and wish to use. If you don’t want to invest in all of these colors, instructor will have a set available to share. If you wish to work from photographs to serve as a reference, a discussion of how to use photographs will be presented. We will have a still life arrangement in the classroom to work from as well as master images for copies, portrait and life models, books, etc.

  • Basic Suggested Colors, or equivalent, for oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor or drawing media
  • Titanium white
  • Yellow Ochre
  • Raw Umber
  • Burnt Sienna
  • Ivory Black
  • Cadmium Yellow Light
  • Cadmium Red Medium
  • Permanent Rose
  • Ultramarine Blue
  • Other Materials
  • Linseed Oil (for oils)
  • Weber’s Odorless Turpenoid, or equivalent (for oils)
  • Palette surface
  • Paper Towels
  • Canvas Boards (2 or 3 @ 11”X14” to 12”X16”), or paper for drawing and acrylics
  • Brushes
  • Small Sketchbook or drawing pad
  • Any additional materials of your choice such as watercolors, pastels, etc
