Learn printmaking basics in this 5-class course. The course will introduce relief printmaking, intaglio and monotype techniques in bite-size pieces. Printmaking is tactile, repeatable and uses a variety of processes. After experimenting with each technique participants will jump right in to printing their own images and designs on quality printmaking paper. No previous experience required.

  • Students should bring $20 to cover additional materials brought by the instructor
  • • Pad of newsprint
  • • Printmaking Paper (stonehenge, BFK Rives, arches) - students may wait to purchase until after first day of class
  • • Reference images, sketchbooks, permanent markers, any necessary supplies for image/plate- planning process
  • • pencils (2-4H for signing and marking backsides of paper)
  • • Woodcut tools (will have some available in class to use, but students can feel free to bring their own if they already have them)
  • • Scribes, needles, burnishes, sandpaper (will have some available in class to use, but students can feel free to bring their own if they already have them)
