Painting from direct observation, learn to describe the figure and its relationship to the interior space. You will construct and balance a composition using large shapes of color to create a sense of light and gravity in space. With an emphasis on color temperature to create atmosphere, you will learn painting techniques to describe a variety of forms and edges. Justin will provide weekly demonstrations using the Alla Prima method as a starting point and will offer a variety of approaches to describe the depth of our visual experience with paint.
