  • There are four common types of painting brushes: flats, rounds, filberts, and brights. Natural bristle brushes (made from hog’s hair) are great for all around usage. Sable brushes are superb for fine detail, finessing, and watercolor. Synthetic brushes are designed to mimic both bristle and sables. Cleaning your brushes thoroughly will add greatly to their longevity.
