We will learn how to paint beautiful flowers by first studying Fantin-Latour master works. These exercises will improve your sense of perception. We will then recreate a floral still life and paint from life. Through close observation, we will cover topics such as abstract value composition, gestural dynamics, flower shape, and flower texture.

  • Flowers and plants
  • There will be some plants and flowers in the workshop for painting purpose. If you have flowers from your garden, that’s the best, bring what you love and set it up to paint!
  • SUPPORTS
  • Bring one support that you are familiar working with or bring one gesso board or stretched canvas, no bigger than 16”x20”
  • • 9x12" Canson canva paper pad or a couple canvas paper for practice only
  • BRUSHES
  • Different brushes have different size system, so I generally look for a range of sizes like the size of a thumb, a pinky or a ring finger. Bring the brushes you have and chances are that they are enough. If you have no brushes, then get a couple small synthetic brushes in the size below

  • DRAWING MATERIALS (optional)
