Ecorché (Fr.: "flayed") is the term used to describe a figure viewed without skin for the purpose of anatomical study and artistic reference, an experience requisite for the serious figure artist. Under the guidance of your instructor and from lectures and reference materials, you will build a life-sized anatomically precise 3-D model of the human skull with its attendant muscular system in clay. You will emerge with a durable reference figure and irreplaceable anatomical expertise. Prior experience in figure sculpture is recommended, however students with strong experience in long-pose figure drawing may find they have many of the requisite skills. Price includes materials.
