Learn magically easy techniques to creating expressive watercolor pet/animal portraits. Paint with a lose illustrative strokes or hone in on your bush details while painting realistic eyes. Artist Willow Heath will guide you through the step by step process of painting 1-3 bright and expressive watercolor animal illustrations that capture the likeness and character of your animal with ease.

*No painting experience necessary and no pet necessary, just come with a sense of humor and willingness to experiment and paint animals.

  • Paper/Canvas/Sculpting Material
  • 140lb cold press watercolor paper *Recommended Strathmore 400 Series 9X12 pad.
  • Saral Transfer Paper, 12 1/2" x 12' Roll, Graphite, 1 roll.
  • Paint/Color/Dry media
  • 1 set of watercolor pan paints
  • *Recommended: Angora Watercolor Pan 14 color set
  • Brush/Pencils/Sculpting tools
  • 1 round synthetic watercolor brush size 0/1(fine tip or liner brush).
  • 1 round synthetic size 3-6 brush
  • 1 flat watercolor wash brush / size 1 inch
  • *Recommended : Princeton Series 4350 Synthetic Golden Taklon Round.
  • 1 permanent black fine tip pen( Micron brand recommended)
  • 1 pencil and non-marking erasure
  • 1 roll artist's tape (Artist's tape NOT painter's tape)
  • Miscellaneous
  • - paper towels
  • - 8x11 photo copy images of an animals and pets 2-6 (to use as reference). All reference material must be close cropped and clear non fuzzy images. Larger images of just head and bust are preferred.
