Calling artists who love all things paper! In this collage course we will discover the many varied nuances of making art through collage, glued paper, fabric materials. You will have the chance to work on different surfaces, including rag paper and panel, as well as in various artistic styles. You will also study the history of collage, from Kurt Schwitters and Pablo Picasso, to modern day contemporary artists that use collage as their main art form. Explore techniques like layering, overlap, isolation, repetition, composition, and surface manipulation on various substrates.

  • A Journal/Sketch Book (Your preference in size)
  • Brushes: Filberts/Flat/Round/Bright / 2” chip brush
  • Two to Four Varied Sizes of Panels ( Also called Elephant Boards @ Artist and Craftsman)
  • Two sheets 22” x 30” of Arches Heavy Duty Watercolor Paper for collage and
  • paint.
  • 2” Masking Tape
  • Scissors
  • Single Edge Razor Blades
  • Exacto Knife
  • Instructor will provide Adhesives ( $ 10.00 to $ 15.00 Lab Fee depending on number of students)
