BECOME A MONITOR! https://www.gageacademy.org/opportunities/
Color can tell time. As painters, we have the power to place our viewer in the past, present or future. It’s all a question of how light expresses time and how we present experiences of color.
We will initially discuss and compare several contemporary and historical painters’ use of color, the sense of temporal expression in the work, and how it tends to be achieved. We will discuss options to establishing a palette, using the palette for rendering, and composing subjects with a deliberate use of color.
This studio practice in this workshop will use casual techniques of collage studies, small color studies, and gather momentum towards a more deliberate us of color in a final painting project.
