Go beyond the basics to achieve realistic portraits and figures drawn from the model, starting with short gesture poses and working your way up to longer poses. You will study anatomy, proportion, volume, and form, and uncover solutions to common drawing challenges such as foreshortening, facial expression, and the placing the figure in an environment. Lectures, demonstrations, and group critiques will supplement in-class teaching. Students will work both at home and in class to finish their pieces.
Spring quarter 2020 classes will be held online.
