Do you love being outdoors and painting nature? Then this class is for you! We will spend time outdoors, painting cityscapes and landscapes from observation, while learning to capture light, color, and mood in short sessions. These graphite and watercolor sketches will then be turned into larger finished works of art in oil back in our studio environment. We will work on choosing strong compositions, practice creating texture through brushstroke application, and work with color layering to create rich, dynamic scenes. Learn how to display your own specialized take on the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
Designed for students with some knowledge of watercolor and oil painting techniques.
