Portrait drawing on toned paper uses the value of the paper as one of the values in your drawing. We will utilize this technique to render sensitive and delicate portraits while building up our lights to explore the way light reflects off bone and diffuses on skin. Traditional portrait drawing techniques such as the planes of the head, shadow shapes and classical proportions will be stressed throughout the class.
