Working from a clothed model learn to paint the figure under the exciting and variable conditions of trees, sun and whatever Nature has in store. You’ll learn to quickly identify the underlying structures you see, roll with the punches, embracing change and learning to find structure in your painting even when nature seems to have abandoned any rules. In the event of Rain, Class will be conducted under a shelter.

  • Supplies for both classes!
  • Students will need:
  • 1 Holbein gouache primary set (magenta, cyan, yellow, white and black )
  • Or Windsor & newton gouache (“primary red”, “primary yellow”, “primary blue”, white, primary or chromatic black
  • 9x12 smooth Bristol or heavy weight drawing paper or sketchbook
  • Drafting tape
  • Pencil for light sketching (can bring assorted color pencils if you want)
  • Eraser
  • Sharpener
  • Something to hold paper in the Feild, a simple board is fine!
  • Water container
  • small spray bottle
  • Paper towels
  • Brushes at least two small rounds (size 1-3), and two medium rounds (Size 4-8)
  • A hat w a brim (just in case for sun glare)
