As the next step from Beginning Portait Drawing, you will begin working to achieve realistic portraits drawn from the model with gradually increasing timed poses. You will study facial anatomy, proportion, volume and form, and uncover solutions to common drawing challenges such as foreshortening, facial expression, and shading. Lectures, demonstrations, and group critiques will supplement in-class teaching. Prior portrait drawing experience recommended.

  • *Materials needed for first class, we will discuss and go over other materials in class.
  • Homework: There will be weekly homework for this class. It’s optional, but highly recommended.
