In this 5-day, virtual workshop, participants will have the opportunity to work “alongside” the instructor as he draws the portrait from a live model over an extended pose (5days) and will discover a clear and straightforward way to approach drawing the portrait, with an emphasis on accurate drawing and observation, particularly the subtlety that the model presents.
There will be a three hour demonstration each day, and after a break, participants will be encouraged to either work from a live model, or from themselves (using a mirror), each participant will then get an individual critique virtually for each day, and we will work together to achieve a finished portrait drawing.
Participants can work on white, or toned paper, and may utilize various dry mediums such as colored pencils, graphite, and white chalk.
Participants will learn how to capture the likeness of the model, and simulate the effects of light washing over the forms presented before them. Through constant demonstrations, and individual critiques, all information covered in this workshop will be thoroughly explained so that each person will meet their individual goals"
