Creative
Students will learn about piñatas and piñata-esque traditions from around the globe as we construct our own crafty and colorful creatures from cardboard, paper and personal mementos. We'll discuss the symbolic significance of the piñata and explore each artist's personal connection to the concepts of triumph-over-evil, release, and celebration!
Movement
Students will spend the week exploring robotting techniques (rooted in the Street Style of Popping) to deepen their understanding of characterization, embodiment and movement. We will be participating in movement that brings joy and fun while tuning into music and rhythm to come up with a robotic choreography!
