One of the most misunderstood aspects of traditional painting is indirect painting or glazing as it is commonly known. In this course I will guide students through the stages of traditional figurative painting (drawing, grisaille, dead coloring, and final glazes) and demystify the process. Topics covered include methods, materials, and the techniques of both historical and contemporary painters.
