Learn to paint the figure using a more personal and intuitive approach. Through the use of color, light and simplified geometry, you will learn techniques that are applicable to both traditional painting and personalized styles. Painting from the model in space, you will be guided to a broader understanding of what figure painting can be.

  • By registering for an in-person program at Gage Academy of Art, you agree that you have received full COVID-19 vaccination. Gage recommends the use of face coverings when indoors at the facility. Non-vaccinated students can enroll in any of the on-line programs Gage offers.

  • Vine charcoal
  • White eraser
  • 1-White artists tape
  • 1-Oil brush – size 6: filbert
  • 1-Oil brush- size 8: filbert

  • 1-Bottle murphy’s oil soap (and an empty clean container)

  • 2-16”x20” Stretched & Gessoed canvas (or 1 Canvas Pad, 10 sheet)
