We will spend the first three sessions loosening up our drawing hands, unlocking our storytelling brains, and learning the secrets of comic-making with a mix of collaborative games, short strips, quick writes, and master studies--meanwhile students are encouraged to spend their time outside of class on the hunt for inspiration with an active sketchbook practice. We'll spend the final weeks taking one story idea through every step of the comics process: each student will outline, script, thumbnail, rough, edit! edit! edit!, pencil, and ink their very own three-page comic.
