From delicate leaves and fungi, to feathered birds and furry animals; you will explore the different textures of nature utilizing watercolor techniques and growing your artistic toolbox. Learn from live interactive demonstrations, feedback, and classwork how to render nature, landscapes, and animals in watercolors. Paint and learn alongside artist, illustrator, and wilderness survivalist Willow Heath.

  • We recommend that everyone registered for an in-person program at Gage Academy of Art receives full COVID-19 vaccination. Gage leaves the use of face coverings when indoors at the facility up to each individual as masks are not required. 


  • • 140lb cold press cotton watercolor paper 9x12 or 8x8.
    • Watercolor paints, artist quality, transparent.
    • 1 tube of permanent white gouache
    • Assorted round watercolor brushes, sizes 2-6.
    •1 flat watercolor wash brush size 1 inch.
    •1 pencil
    •1 roll artist's tape. Recommended: Scotch Delicate Surface Painter's Washi Tape .7
    • Paper towels
    •1 white gel pen. Recommended:Sakura Gelly Roll .08
    •1 container for water
    •Graphite transfer paper. Recommended:
    Saral Brand wax free graphite transfer paper
    Optional: Masking fluid or masking fluid pen.
