Portrait Sculpture
Class | This program is completed
Learn to sculpt the portrait and capture likeness and personality in clay. Focus on sculpting a full-scale portrait in water clay on a fixed armature while working from a live model. Topics include an introduction to tools and techniques, proportions, structural anatomy and learning to closely observe the nuances of the human face. Instruction includes demonstrations, brief lectures and individual feedback throughout the class. We begin by first massing-in the shape of the skull, and learning to incorporate facial features in relation to this structure. By the end of the course, create one portrait from a live model.
This 5-week class will not have class on July 4th.
