Drawing Summer Flowers With Ink, Charcoal, and White Chalk

Weekend Workshop | This program is completed

Revel in the beauty of summer flowers while discovering the freedom and expressive quality of brushed ink and ink wash layered on tinted paper with the incisive lines of black charcoal and accents of brilliant white chalk. You learn to observe and break down complex blooms and floral still-lifes into their simplified essence, and to build a dynamic image using a full range of relative values and a variety of marks and brushwork. You complete multiple studies of flowers and glass vases, and one finished piece.
